The same Ultra Bee brake kit as our V2 Falcon, with the classic closed-face rotor guard in six colours. 240 or 250mm floating rotor, genuine Sur-Ron Ultra Bee caliper and master cylinder, steel-braided line.
Watch: Front Brake Kit Install
Step-by-step fitting of the EBG front brake kit, filmed in our workshop. The brake kit is the same on V1 and V2 – only the rotor guard style differs.
- Filmed step by step in the EBG workshop.
- Bleed the brake system after fitting – see our fill & bleed guide.

Shield Guard and Ultra Bee Hydraulics for the Falcon
The Falcon leaves the factory with a 220mm fixed front rotor, factory pads and a rubber line. This kit changes all three, adds a genuine Sur-Ron Ultra Bee caliper and master cylinder, and puts a closed-face shield guard over a 240 or 250mm floating rotor.
- Closed-face guard — a solid plate over the disc rather than an open frame
- Six anodised finishes — Black, Grey, Dark Brown, Galaxy Purple, Raw Silver and Red
- No fade at the bottom of a hill — floating rotor, cooling grooves, semi-metallic pads
- Genuine Ultra Bee caliper + master cylinder — not a copy
Classic Shield or Open Frame — Which EBG Guard?
This kit and the V2 kit are the same brake. The only thing that changes is the rotor guard, and that is a choice about how you ride, not about stopping power.
| Classic Shield — this kit | Open Frame — V2 kit | |
|---|---|---|
| Guard face | Solid plate, closed face | Open frame, rotor left exposed |
| Colours | 7 — including Grey and Dark Brown | 5 |
| Caliper | Genuine Sur-Ron Ultra Bee | Identical |
| Master cylinder | Genuine Sur-Ron Ultra Bee, right hand | Identical |
| Rotor | 240 or 250 × 3.5 mm floating | Identical |
| Pads and line | Semi-metallic, steel-braided PTFE | Identical |
| Price | The same either way — pick the guard you prefer | |

Fade Is What You Feel First
Riders rarely complain that the Falcon will not stop — they complain that the lever goes soft near the bottom of a long descent and comes back towards the bar. That is heat: in the rotor, in the pads, and in fluid pushing against a hose that swells. A thicker floating rotor, a semi-metallic pad and a steel-braided line attack all three at once.
Genuine Sur-Ron Ultra Bee Hydraulics
The market is full of Ultra Bee caliper and master cylinder copies. They photograph the same and cost less, and the difference is in the piston bores and the seals — which you find out on a steep descent. Every 79Bike Falcon kit we ship uses genuine Sur-Ron Ultra Bee parts.
Which 79Bike Falcon Option Do I Need?
