Surron Light Bee Primary Drive Performance Upgrade

The original Light Bee primary drive is designed for standard riding conditions. Increased motor torque, aggressive off-road riding and repeated high-load acceleration can place additional stress on the belt and pulley teeth.

The EBG V2 primary drive pulley kit combines a lightweight 7075-T6 aluminum rear hub with a heat-treated 420J2 stainless steel tooth ring. This hybrid construction reduces unnecessary rotating mass compared with an all-steel pulley while adding a wear-resistant surface where the belt contacts the pulley.

The system is designed to support stable belt tracking, smooth power transfer and consistent drivetrain response during demanding riding.

Built for Stock and Modified LBX Builds

The EBG V2 kit is developed for everyday riding, off-road use and performance-modified Surron Light Bee builds. Its heat-treated pulley teeth help maintain consistent tooth geometry during extended operation, while the carbon-reinforced belt provides quiet, low-maintenance power transfer.

This pulley kit does not increase motor horsepower by itself. It is designed to improve primary-drive durability, belt engagement and the consistency of power transfer.

Hybrid Rear Pulley Construction

The aluminum hub provides strength with reduced weight, while the heat-treated stainless steel ring handles belt contact and tooth wear.

Heat-Treated 420J2 Front Pulley

The front pulley is CNC machined from heat-treated 420J2 stainless steel. Its hardened tooth profile is designed for consistent belt engagement, improved resistance to tooth wear and stable operation under high drivetrain loads.

Carbon-Reinforced Drive Belt

Full-kit configurations include an EBG carbon-reinforced drive belt in the selected width.

18mm Belt

Recommended for riders seeking a durable primary-drive upgrade with straightforward fitment and smooth everyday performance.

20mm Belt

Provides a wider belt contact surface and is intended for more heavily modified builds. Confirm available clearance and correct alignment before ordering.

Motor Shaft Fitment

• Keyed Shaft — OEM LBX / EBMX / TORP / Sotion / other compatible motors: for compatible motors using a keyed output shaft
• Splined Shaft — VTB Ryuga 52kW: for the VTB Ryuga 52kW motor using a splined output shaft

• Select the correct motor output-shaft option before ordering.
• Use the included EBG Belt Tensioning Tool to establish the initial belt tension.
• Check belt alignment, tension and clearance before riding.
• The motor mount allows limited lateral adjustment for fine belt alignment.
• Check all fasteners and belt tension again after the first 50 km.
• Professional installation is recommended if you are unfamiliar with primary-drive alignment.

Which belt width should I choose?

Choose 18mm for general performance use and straightforward installation. Choose 20mm when a wider belt is required for a modified build, after confirming sufficient clearance.

Does this kit add horsepower?

No. The kit does not increase motor output. It is designed to improve belt engagement, drivetrain durability and the consistency of power transfer.

Does it work with an upgraded motor?

Yes. Choose Keyed Shaft — OEM LBX / EBMX / TORP / Sotion / other compatible motors for a compatible keyed output shaft, or Splined Shaft — VTB Ryuga 52kW for the VTB splined output shaft.

Is modification required?

The correct bike and motor-shaft configuration is designed as a replacement primary-drive system. Belt alignment and clearance must still be verified, particularly with the 20mm belt option.
